Dera Ghazi Khan Irrigation Zone
The D.G.Khan Irrigation Zone District D.G.Khan, Rajanpur & Muzaffargarh with an irrigation network consisting of 2679.64 miles of canals providing irrigation to Culturable Command Area of 2.084 Million acres in the D.G.Khan Irrigation Zone. Irrigation supplies for the Zone is diverted from two barrages namely, Chashma Barrage & Taunsa Barrage to irrigate its area. D.G.Khan Irrigation Zone consists of three Canal Circles and one Project Circle as under
Derajat Canal Circle, D.G.Khan
Derajat Canal Circle consists of 03 Canal Divisions namely D.G Khan Canal Division-I, D.G. Khan Canal Division-II and Rajanpur Canal Division.
Taunsa Canal Circle, Kot Adu
It has following 03-Divisions:
- Chashma Right Bank Canal Division Taunsa Sharif. It operates and maintains Chashma Right Bank Canal which cultivates the area of Tehsil Taunsa Sharif, District D.G.Khan. Chashma Right Bank Canal takes share from Chashma Barrage.
- River Diversion Division, Muzaffargarh. . It operate and maintain the River Training Works (Flood Embankments & Spurs) along River Indus and also control the Drainage system.
- Taunsa Headworks Division, Kot Adu. It operates and maintain Taunsa Barrage Headwork.
Muzaffargarh Canal Circle, Multan
Muzaffargarh Canal Circle consists of 03 Divisions:
- Kot Adu Canal Division. It operates and maintain Muzaffargarh Canal System and cultivate area of District Kot Adu.
- Khangarh Canal Division Muzaffargarh. It is newly created Division and cultivates the areas of Muzaffargarh and Khangarh.
- Muzaffargarh Canal Division. It operates and maintains Muzaffargarh Canal and Rangpur Canal System in District Muzaffargarh. Muzaffargarh Canal originates from Taunsa Barrage and Rangpur Canal off takes from T.P Link and both the canals cultivate the area of District Muzaffargarh.
Project Circle, D.G.Khan
Project Circle consists of 02 construction Divisions namely D.G. Khan Construction Division and Jampur Construction Division Rajanpur.
- D.G.Khan Construction Division. It controls the Hill Torrents and maintain River Training Works (Flood Embankments & Spurs) along River Indus and also controls the Drainage system in District D.G.Khan.
- Jampur Construction Division. It control the Hill Torrents and maintain River Training Works (Flood Embankments & Spurs) along River Indus and also control the Drainage system in District Rajanpur
